First Fridays Ypsilanti has more to celebrate than it just being Friday!
According to the First Fridays website, First Fridays Ypsilanti is a self-guided monthly art and culture walk hosted throughout downtown Ypsilanti at multiple venues. Each month on the first Friday participating venues offer free art activities involving local artists, musicians, and/or tastings. The goal of the First Fridays Ypsilanti is to invite community members into the downtown area to support local talent and businesses while having a fun time!
The Downtown Association of Ypsilanti (DAY) and the Ypsilanti District Library are combining forces to bring you the Downtown Summer Series, featuring local musicians to play at the YDL Michigan Avenue Library Park Plaza located at 229 W. Michigan Ave.
The following dates are scheduled for the 2016 season:
July 8th – Jake Lives Bank with special guest Crystal Harding and the “You Can’t Stop Me” Project
August 5th – Steve Somers Band with special guest Ypsilanti Youth Orchestra
All shows are from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Bring a lawnchair. If it rains, the concert will move to inside the library.
